Saturday victory against Ayia Napa

Σαββατιάτικο τρίποντο με Αγία Νάπα

Victory with four goals for Anorthosis in Antonis Papadopoulos, where we won  Ayia Napa with 4-1, on Saturday night. Anorthosis may didn’t perform in high standards, but what was important from the game, were the three points.

We started the match ideally, managing to score early, in our first good chance. Calvo stole the ball from Stathakis outside the penalty box and passed it to Makris. In Stathakis effort to send the ball away, it went in the net for the 1-0.

While we were looking for the second goal to kill the game, Ayia Napa equalized with Rojas, from an obvious offsite position.

Andreas Makris send away the stress, scoring from inside the box, doubling our goals in the 55th minute, taking advantage of Nuhu’s ball.

Aburjania scored a third goal, his first with Anorthosis, securing our victory. Before, Toni Calvo had sent the ball from the right and targeted for the Georgian who was alone in the box.

Two minutes in extra time, Serran had the chance to score, but a defender managed to put him to the ground, our team being awarded a clear penalty. Calvo made sure the penalty was transformed to a goal and the score was finally 4-1.
