After the morning training, our football team went to Famagusta, our home-town.
The footballers were briefed on the Cyprus Issue and the history of Famagusta and also watched a short film on the life in Famagusta before 1974. There were also scenes from the turkish invation.
Subsequently, the mission visited the city of Famagusta where the players climbed the Venetian walls, walked the beach that borders the ghost-city (which is held hostage for forty years) while they looked at the physical home of our team, the GSE stadium.
The experience was moving and unprecedented for all the members of the team, since the crime against Famagusta and Cyprus that keeps on going since 1974 is unseen anywhere in the world.
We shall never forget, that Anorthosis was not and will never be, just a sports club…
